Hello all Female Riders... It's me Chey...woot party Cheesy...or don't :'(
I'm looking to gathering 6 female riders between the ages of 18-infinity to put together a team for the TTT.
Only 4 have to actually do the race and two will be reserve in case something should befall one or more of us.
I"m not the best at organization but I'll be damned if that's going to stop me from getting a team out training with each other...even if it is once or twice a month riding the course at calga.

This race goes towards the Roadwoman of the year... maximum points awarded in this event is 40 per team member if we win...I won't let the team settle for second.

If your interested either Reply stating so...
or contact me on
MOB: 0422 508 751 (Note during half of the weekday I'm most probably at uni...so don't feel neglected if I don't answer, I'll more then hopefully call back when I can...unless I have no credit...which is rare)
HOME: (02) 4388 4895 (call after 5:30 except fridays xD)

I hope to hear from some of you ladies sooner or later

Hello all Female Riders... It's me Chey...woot party Cheesy...or don't :'(
Now I am feeling old... not only do you mention infinity as an age (which I assume is to include the Masters age :'().... but I am not sure I even grasp the language here  Huh!

Chey your dad has mentioned this a few times and here is my suggestion to you.   Sue Tierney, myself and Kiera have discussed the Team Trial and have already decided to enter a team, you are welcome to join us.   Better than the three of us combined would be Freya and she has Time Trial experience to burn... however she is "voluntarily retiring" from riding bikes to concentrate on horses (and is not interested - I have already been there).    The other two picks for me would be Louise K and Hol.  I am not sure that Louise will be able to ride as she has a lot going on for the next couple of months, Hol hasnt been competing much but is riding heaps, is strong and I think the Calga course would suit her well. I think you could twist both these girls arms into at least training with us just in case, even if they were not interested in being on the main team.   If Hol and or Lou were a definite not interested I would approach our Vice President and see if you could apply some pressure to be our back up.... even though she swears that she is not a roadie!

So the team I would suggest would be:  Sue T, Keira, myself and you off the bat, and you should also ask Hol and Lou... there are your six.  I know that this is important to you for points towards Roadwoman of the year, but remember that you will have team mates that come from a different perspective, for whom second place might be more than satisfactory.... lets just have a go and see what happens...

Is there a reason the team must be 18 plus?  As I think Renee Manwaring is a really strong rider and the twins are really cranking at the moment, so they could be excellent OR thinking about a team of their own - GIRLS?Huh  I have ridden against the three of you lots in D grade and think all of you would be great in a team - either with women or on your own... with another under 18 ... not sure on the age requirements.  There is no reason we cant enter a couple of teams and all train in together... that way if only a couple of each team turns up we can still do some technique work as a group.

Since we have the Wed night track training over winter option i think that would be the best place to start.  Road racing is starting, so we can always crank out an extra lap as a team at the end of our races.    I have asked Mick Curren about helping out a womens team and he was happy to lend a hand as well.  Given Graeme Tierney's recent form I am sure he will have some wisdom to share, so I dont think we need to stress too much about getting some help.

Suggest putting team together and then enter both the CD TTT event at Kooragang in May and follow up with the State TTT event at Calga in June.   From a team manager point of view... I think it would be great if it was a girl... but not one of the starting line up.

ahh I meant to say under 19's + but alas words escaped me...
I agree the three younger ladies (Not meaning to offend since i'm not sure on two of their ages)  would be a great team, the only problem would be the difference between gears...I'm pretty sure they don't have open gears yet...but I could be wrong since I didn't race much in U/19's (If I were to be part of that team)

I would love to be part of your team of three you already have constructed and I will try to bend the other two ladies arms to train with us and margret as Paul has suggested.

I understand that second could be more then satisfactory for most...I was more trying to get good spirits to aim for first by trying to slice of a minute from last years female TTT, but come the day if second is what we get then that is great then we'll be happy with second  and then go to the club for a cocktail, drink or something.

Good to see I am moulding the younger members of the club in my own image!

KOCC is hosting a TTT next Saturday April 11th at 2.30 pm, it's a Teams Time Trial (4 Persons) 25km Graded.

If you want your team to have a "Trial" run your welcome to attend, if you don't have a team then teams can be arranged before the start.

I have orgainsed at least one team of Juniors with Caleb Degelder, Jonah Kennedy, Ryland Willis and Melanie Dawson riding, so if any CCCC parents want to bring their juniors along and make a race of it your more than welcome, the juniors will most likely only do 2 laps (16km).

I emailed margaret beardslee and she said that she is most likely to be in for the TTT. So that will be good she is a strong rider!! She said she has been looking at joining the club and will let me know soon. What date is the race on in June (Just so I know also)? And was there another one in May? I will be seeing her tonight at club race night at Mingara and chat to her then. I can't be there on the weekend as I am going to Hawaii leaving Saturday.. woo hoo!!!

Hi Keira.... I had a look at Cycling NSW today as there are very specific rules re the dates of joining the club and entering the TTT on the 14th June.  Here is the ruling... she would need to join CCCC by 14th April!  (Feels like we are importing a gun baseballer from the US to take out the Central Coast Softball championship)

64 - NSW CLUB ROAD TEAMS TIME TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP. (Technical Regulations).

g) To be eligible to compete in the CNSW Club Teams Time Trial Championship each rider shall be an affiliated financial member of the club they represent and have not competed in any OPEN or CHAMPIONSHIP event for another club during the current road season (1st April to 30th September).

h) Members must be financial with their competing club/Cycling New South Wales two calendar months before the event, and must produce their Race License at the event. (Receipts of membership application will not be accepted.).

Girls

ATTA is on next Sunday 3rd May
I would suggest you all ride an individual 25km TT, this will give a good idea of RAW data for each other’s TT ability
From this you will be able to work out theoretical length of turns you will need to do to optimise your performance.
After the TT, got out for a group ride putting in a few 5 minute efforts in a TTT pace line.
