Hey Girls

Is it time for another girl ride??
Would be great to do it on a Sunday morning, nice and early and not clashing with the TT or Calga racing.
Let's keep it open to everyone not just club members as I know NTBC (that's Nic the Bike Chick - AKA Mrs Dan the Bike Man) would love to come, and hopefully Mr Hugs and Im pretty sure there be some others.
Perhaps we could try the Calga course so that some of the girls can get an idea of the course if they are thinking about giving the "women" friendly time trial a go.  Its nice and quiet up there too.

Sunday 19 July is the first one I can see (other than 28 June which I can't do).

Anyone up for it??

I think doing the calga course would be perfect to attract newcomers to the club. Jess (girlfriend) and her mum both really like that idea.

What is wrong with the 28th June Louise..... Hangovers just make the legs go STRONGER!  I am fine for the 19th.  Do you need to have club membership to participate?

No you don't need membership for the club to participate.  We won't make it an official club ride.  Just a bunch of women and perhaps some of the older experienced club girls that are used to road riding (and have their parents Ok - like Tegan, Sasha and Jas if they want to come).  If we get enough numbers there may be some girls who want to do say 50km and some the 25km.  I was also thinking that we should start from Corrugated Cafe and finish there too.  That way no one is riding on a full tummy.

So people, if you know anyone who would be keen please send the link of this thread to them so they can keep up to date with what is going on.  Perhaps they can also let me know if they are keen by either joining this forum and posting their interest, or emailing me on louise@louisebrownkennett.com

It's a hard course but its not a race and I reckon as long as they are fit (as there is Little Blood Hill to challenge the legs - although if they have some good "granny gears" they should be right) they should be right.  Jeez if I can do 50km on it, almost anyone can do it!!!

Sorry Louise, can't make it either.
Unfortunately, Graham and I will in Provence, France for 3 weeks of cycling and watching a few stages of the Tour.

My wife Charlene would like to come, but it has been 3 years and two children since she last rode. Blood hill could be a bit much of an ask for her but she would give it a go if she wasn't inconveniencing anyone by holding them up.

Stu,  this will be a purely social ride.... there is no such thing as holding anyone up..... plus if some girls are wanting to ride to the base of blood and turn back we can split the group in two and 1/2 head up hill while the others go back to the Cafe and order the first round of coffee EASY!

Kylie and Sue.  Sorry you can't make it but Yoni and I want more women to ride with and we reckon we might do this more often.
Stu, get your wife on the trainer.  Give her a little program so that she can build up gradually.  Kane did that for me initially and it really helped with my confidence.  Nothing hard core, just something so that she gets those legs spinning.
I have friend or two who are keen to come and its giving them a reason to get on the bike and do a little pre-ride prep.
