Patto, Guy Page and myself flew the CCCC flag at the Beaumont Rd crit race this morning.
A short but heavy shower just prior to the start time put some doubt in the commissairs mind, but the race went ahead a few minutes late.  Guy choose to race C grade with Patto and I, this proved good decision as they combined both A and B grades.
With a lot of water on the road, all riders were extremely cautious comming into the hairpins, a Supreme Cycles rider came to grief on the second turn.  Fortunately he didnt bring any others down.  As the race progressed Guy did a lot of work on the front and pushed hard out of the turns a number of times.  Patto and I tried to stay away from any trouble by keeping towards the front on each of the turns.  Thankfully the rain stayed away and the roads started to dry out.  On the bell lap Guy sat in and recovered a little.  With about 600m to go, the speed dropped slightly and Guy kicked, splintering the bunch and was to strong winning by about 30m to Patto and I rolled in third place.
A CCCC trifecta made the trip down well worthwhile.

i hope i dont do that on Friday night..

first half of the race, i was very unenthusiastic.. took a good 20 min for me to even feel like having a dig..

but Red Socks ( Guy Page ) rode a strong race... attacking a fair bit and deserved the win
