I know saying this is gonna bit me, but I haven't had one flat since I put the new Gatorskins on the bike and made a habit of inspecting the tyres every now and then for glass. Have found several slithers of glass in the tyres since I've had them but so far have always removed them before they've caused a problem.

Heres the procedure:
Let tyre down so its easy to squeeze out of shape
Look for any hole or cut.
When you find one, squeeze the tyre to open up the hole and look inside to see if any of those varments are hiding in there.
If you find glass, remove it - may need a really small screwdriver or tweezers.
Don't forget to pump up before getting back on.

Once or twice I've ridden through glass and immediately pulled over and have found glass and removed it without letting down the tyre.

Now, I'm sure to get a flat the next time I ride hehe

FWIW,

Over 5000km of races and training so far in Holland and only just had my first flat on the weekend. I can count on one hand the pieces of glass i have seen.

Thanks to Continental for the GP 4000's  Smiley
Got to be just my luck Mick.. either that or I'm moving to Holland  Smiley
I've destroyed 3 Conti GP400's in about 500km  Angry Each time I think "never buying another one"...then end up taking the easy option....3rd one was the final straw and now on Michelin Carbons....currently only managed to kill one of the those  Roll Eyes
Now Veloflex Masters on the track bike are a different story... very nice  Smiley

Shows there is always a component of luck involved.

BTW, that 500km would have been over 2-3 years?  Wink
