Basic design was voted upon and passed, a 4 member sub-committee was appointed to oversee the process from now on, with the idea that everything will be finalised as soon as practicable, rather than wait another month until the next meeting.
I really like the new design very classic looking I think it will do well

I don't care what the kit looks like because its your club colours and you just wear them to show that you're part of your club whether you like a particular design or not.
But after looking at the design and then watching the Tour of Oman (watch for Edvard Boasson Hargen to clean up in the spring classics in a few years time) I couldn't help but notice that teams with similar designs looked like they were wearing retro stuff from the late 80's...
Maybe that design style has suddenly become "undated". I wonder if I still have an old Peugot jersey lying about somewhere...

I notice lots of feedback here on the forum, but the same old crew attended the meeting last night.
Same ol, same ol Hodgee... Im just waiting for the critiquing/complaints on issues that will be made by those who can NEVER make it There have been many items / lines of thought like this over the last couple of years and I find myself unable to let them go forever. Since the soapboxing has already begun for the new term, I guess it's OK if I get up there & start sprouting off too. First of all, many thanks to all the CCCC volunteers (past, present & future) – without you the club could not function and there could be no racing. I recognise this and hope everyone else does as well. And now for the question on my mind: When exactly did it become “law” that no ideas/opinions were relevant/important unless they originated with someone in a Club Meeting? This is certainly not the case with government representation – we don't have to personally be in a parliamentary meeting to “be heard” - instead we make our issues known to the Local Member of government and they represent us. Similar holds true in many different arenas. Does this also mean that all the knowledge of experienced individuals (at the expense of embarrassing him, eg. Kerko - CCCC Life Member - committee member/volunteer for nearly every year over the last 3 or more decades – has seen many things come & go) is seen as worthless and not something that could be used as a sounding board for feedback/advice? People change – they may have different things on just now (eg. a regular babysitting gig, might just “need a break” etc, etc) that take priority. It doesn't mean they may not be back to help again at some stage (depending on how they are treated – which brings me to a side issue : isn't the club supposed to pay fees for life members rather than just giving them the 'honour' of a title?) or that they are unavailable for advice. A thought for you all: Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -- George Santayana

Agree with you Jock, although I think there would be a better case to whinge if we has the same kit as Footon-Servetto, that thing is horrid. There is definitely a retro thing going on in the pros, but I don't think out CCCC kit is too retro, just simple.

Wow Murphs, I had to google that Footon-Servetto cycling kit...it's a shame I didn't notice earlier. That's the worst kit I've ever seen! I'm logging on to Probikekit to see if they have it now. Stu

BUMP Grant you should come to the meeting next time and put input in you have many ideas, or if you can't make it talk to someone who will be attending and pass them on it would be great to hear from you thanks mate

Grant,
Sorry but i think he does. I think Jason understands that final decisions are made at monthly meetings and that if members can't be there due to other commitments, they should make there comments and ideas known to someone who will be there and can put their point across before final decisions are voted upon. What i find is so many members have their say after the fact. They complain about decisions made in their chosen absence. The strip is a great example. No doubt there will be members complain about the decisions made by those who voted on the night. There were about 15 members there and very few apologies. From memory not one person there had any input about the uniform from absent parties. I'm not saying that Club Meetings are the be all and end all of ideas/opinions of relevant/important issues but it is where final decisions are made that impact on the whole club. If members are concered about decisions, they should attempt to be at meetings or find someone going to put there point across, otherwise not complain after decisions are made. Alot of people look up to your opinion as you have been there and done that. I think that is what Jason meant in his post.

Not sure I agree big Al....seems to be a lot of decision are made on the forum without the input of others or the permission of the club e.g. CCCC Road pointscore, Graded club champs, race sponsorship and more spring to mind.....
Seems there is a culture of "better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission"...at least once support is drummed up on the forum, no one will object at the club meeting....or the folks with the experience are not present for any number of reasons...
I think using the forum as one of the main vehicles to debate and set club policy while not attempting to leverage the guys who have raced and run the club for the last 20+ years is nuts.
As for is this a racing club...the short answer is yes...membership includes a CA racing license.
