As it stans, CCCC has booked Adcock Park on Wednesday nights from 5pm-9pm, with the lights being on from 6pm-9pm (lights can only be booked in 3 hour blocks).

Juniors will have the track from 6pm - 7:15pm.

Seniors from 7:15pm - 9pm. For seniors, Wednesday nights will be road bikes only.

This poll is to gauge interest in a Monday night training session for track bikes only.

The cost of having the lights on is $54 for the 3 hour block, so unless there is sufficient interest in Monday nights, the club will not proceed with booking the track.

Murph's - pretty sure that last year there was never any decision to stop track bikes from using the track.

Is what you meant to post - road bikes only in the coordinated training session?

I can see that it wouldn't make sense to have road and track bikes together in the same training bunch but there was no problem with anyone making use of the lights on the track to train with track bikes last season. If everyone adheres to the track guidelines this shouldn't be a problem.

If I recall correctly, for insurance reasons we aren't allowed to have road and track bikes on the track at once in a club sanctioned training event.

But Monday will still be track bikes only, otherwise everyone will turn up with road bikes and make it the same as Wednesday.

Given that Uni is robbing me of my chance to go fast and turn left on a Wednesday night, I would definitely be up for some track training on a Monday.

How many people do we need to make this viable and not too expensive?  15-20?

I agree with Murphs Track Bikes on Monday and Road on Wednesday makes it easy for everyone and also for people to get training in on their Road Bikes as well as Track  Wink

The idea for Monday night is to give the track riders a training session on fixed gears on a velodrome which probably will mostly be sprint work. If a balanced approach is the way to go then the trackies should have their say for Monday night as roadies are there on Wednesday. Last season the gold coin donation pretty well covered the lighting cost with about 25 riders each night on Wednesday. Monday will need a similar patronage to minimise the $54 cost to the Club. There are about 35 track riders in the Club including myself so lets hear those opinions so the Club can decide on promoting more training opportunities for the members during Winter at night.
There has been no decision at any time to restrict fixed gear bikes on Wednesday Night Winter. I will get a clarification on the regulation that applies here.
Have a say either way please.

No problem with restricting fixed gear riders from participating in the organised training session on Wednesday night as this would be dangerous but those riders who wish to train on track bikes should not be restricted from doing so while the road bike session is running - after all it is a track.

Same for Monday nights if it gets the nod - the organised sessions can be for fixed gear riders but I think it would be incorrect to disallow road bikes onto the track during these training nights.

Both Kylie and I would be keen to get some track training in on a Monday night, I would just hesitate to commit that we will both be there every Monday. Bill.

Still waiting confirmation that we have the lights for this Wednesday at Adcock for the SENIORS.
Mick is not starting JUNIORS until 28th April as CCCC presentation is 21st April.
At the time of posting SENIORS will not start Wednesday nights until 28th April also.

Guys (Murphs / Whitey),

Definitive answer on Monday night track training please.

Track or Road bikes for organised sessions?

Have had to give up Tuesday night training so that Mrs Pezulu can attend Jim (so spells it Gym but I'm not convinced) & am keen to supplement with Monday nights.

Problemo, Ill no hava track bicicletta!

Simon & Gary mentioned road bikes for Monday last night so I am suitably confuzzled.  Huh
