Hi all,

If you're interested in some light extra km's during the week (before work?) a couple of us are heading off from Fountain Plaza, Erina to do the Umina Pennisula loop and then back to FP for a coffee. We do this every Thursday (work permitting) Roll out at 0600 this Thursday and usually back by 0730-0800 depending rider ability etc. Average around 30kph (about the same as the Saturday coffee ride - same loop too). Can do some efforts if required/motivated, otherwise just a good ride with some caffine at the other end.

All welcome.  Grin

50% increase today in people who turned up..
But flipping hell...

i swear it was snowing at Calga cause it was bloody cold

we did get to see some serious control handling skills (also a bit of a hoon)
Yonie going around a round-a-bout flicking the rear end of the bike out and leaving a trail of tyre smoke from the burn out... and pulling up just short of a big truck... actually never seen Yonie with a look of "SHIT" on her face before

First:  That was not cold!
Second:  Racing for first in line at the coffee shop is NOT a "hoon" it is a highly regarded training essential.   You do fail to mention that I was sliding around that corner at speed on the rims of my beautiful dura ace wheels.... and the look of despair that you describe was a mixture of "oh my god the rims" and "I wonder who is the consultant on duty in Intensive Care"....
Third:  The only person with the look of "SH%T" on their face, was the poor truck driver who had carefully timed his roundabout entry to miss three fast moving cyclists moving in a straight line.... not two moving in a straight line and a third going sideways!  The smoke you smelled was his brakes!

See you next Wednesday if you will have me!

I am not feeling well this Friday & have already called in sick for the day so I am available (please keep it above the belt people) to ride. Was going to do something a bit longer from 07:00 on Friday morning but happy to tag along with some serious early morning "crazy hell raising burnout busting hoon" cyclists. If you'll have me (there I go again, I just can't help myself).

Where & when?
