Giro Tipping will not be as complex as the Tour De France tipping. Usually we tip a different rider each stage in the TDF but this does take up a lot of time and more than one marriage ended in July last year. To keep marriages together, we will simply select one set of 5 riders before the Giro starts and stick with them throughout.

Stick with me on this one:

Each tipper chooses 5 riders.

Upon conclusion of the tour each tipper will receive points for riders who finish in each of the following classifications:   General Classification (pink jersey); Mountains Classification (green jersey); Points Classification (mauve jersey)

Points will be 12, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the top 10.

The idea behind selecting 5 riders is to cover all 3 classification (jerseys) and have 2 other riders selected incase your selected riders abandon the race.

E.g. – choose 3 different riders that you think will win each of the jerseys and then your second guess to cover abandoned riders  or   choose 5 riders who you think will finish top 5 in the GC if your confident or a combination of both.

This is the real deal therefore the tipping contest will cost $5 and the winner will take all. $$ will be collected by Mick Curran or Chris Murphy at races/training with a “forum receipt” posted on this thread.

Someone could be winning $200+ so get reading and place tips before the prolog starts on the 10th May.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ENTERED THEIR 5 RIDERS, YOU HAVE UNTILL STAGE 7 TO ENTER YOUR SELECTION.

Your 5 selected riders can be edited unlimited times up untill stage 7 but from that point they will be locked in.
