Congratulations to the organisers, good turn out, I hope CCCC pressed the home advantage.

Now the dust has settled it would be good for one of the committee members to clear up if wearing a plain shirt for CD races is accepted now, just for future member reference.

SS,

Rules do say that a plain jersey does cut it, orange is better but going out on a limb I would say that you will NEVER be rejected in a plain jersey.

I will post race details tomorrow but would like to say thanks to everyone -competitors,officials and volunteers for a successful CD road race at Calga. I would especially like to thank all the visiting clubs for turning up and providing some great competition. Special thanks to Ross Hayter for being the commie today and ensuring a successful days racing.

Great job on running the CD graded scratch races CCCC

It was well supported by the riders 120 + and went quite smoothly and there was some great racing in all grades.

Today I emailed the Central Division Chief Commissaire to get the official wording Re: Plain jersey at a CD event.

"There is no problem wearing the old club shirt for a couple of seasons after the new kit is introduced, and a plain jersey will be ok if rider has not yet purchased a club jersey."

Hope this stops any grey areas and/or people guessing what they think the rule is.

Well done on following this up Mick.
Great that no-one was left disappointed for this CD race & will be safe for future CD events too.

Hopefully someone has informed Clyde Wink
Seriously though - not sure who the current CD rep is (used to be Jock?) but hope they look to get the CD rules updated on the website as well - "No club or team shirt = NO RACE" looks a bit harsh in print.

"No club or team shirt = NO RACE" looks a bit harsh in print.

Sometimes you need to encourage higher learning with simple instruction.  I can tell you from experience that there are a lot of neanderthals who know how to ride a bike.

Clyde was a stickler for having riders take pride in showing off their club or sponsor in CD events.  But he always left room for those who could not be edumacated.  A plain white shirt was always acceptable in the absence of club/sponsored kit.  Main problem was that noone ever brought plain white shirts with them. Smiley
