Hey Mick - just checked both websites (North Sydney and Manly Warringah) and they both have races this weekend. Do you know if this is correct as they usually fall on different weekends?

One of these may get cancelled at the last minute.

I thought that was odd too Andy.

Checked both and they both have racing on.

I'd say Beauie will get cancelled before West Head does

SMS from NSCC President:

Hasn't been raised as a concern by either club so anticipate both will go ahead. Prob make A grade bunches smaller at both.

Your choice mate. It's your birthday week after all.

Be prepared for tired legs if riding to and from WGS!

Awesome morning of racing at Beauies.  An impressive 20ish CCCC riders fronted to spoil the NSCC party.

Start was delayed due to high numbers in B grade, and it was split into two different races.

C Grade Race Report.
Crafty, Mitch Baker, Simon, Patto, and myself started in a field of about 25 starters.  Huggsy help keep the pace up early.  There were several attempts by 1-3 riders to get a break on the field, but all were unsucessful and didnt get more than 50m off the front.  Mitch looked sharp with his new yellow bike with matching sram red yellow group set.  He had a couple of goes off the front, however was brought back to the bunch, but it helped to thin out the field with a number of riders getting dropped.  With two laps to go Mitch went off the front again and the other riders were forced to work hard to bring him back.
Crafty worked hard throughout the race ensuring CCCC were in good positions.  At the turn on the final lap the CCCC train formed with myself driving to get a good position within the bunch, with only one rider just infront and about 600m to go I swung off and Huggsy took over powering towards the finish line.  He swung off leaving Patto in the best possible position for the final 200m.  As I crested the small rise I could see Patto crossing the line to take the win.

Ride of the day in C grade was a tiny NSCC kid on his correct rollout who finished 2nd.  I dont know his name or age but he was very impressive, his legs would have been a blur in the sprint.

There was a number of excellent rides in the other grades.  I believe CCCC took out 6 of the 12 podium positions.  Great result considering there was possibly 100+ riders in the 4 races.

Cheers
Vic

Race reports from the other grades please

WOW!...What an excellent day out. If you have never done one of these Beauie "Ride-Race-Ride" jaunts you are missing out. Coffee at the end was beautiful as usual.

As Vic said, What a roll up for CCCC.

A Grade - 2nd = Mick C, 3rd = Nick Y.

B1 - 1st = Troy McDonald 2nd = Chris James, 4th =  Al , Stumpy, Troy Mc, Mark Steel, Pistol Pete & Cody.

B2 - 3rd = Murphs, Matt Baker.

C Grade - 1st = Patto, Crafty, Hugs, Mark, Mitch B & Vic.

Supporters = Con Y, Cathy & Eddie Baker, Shawn H.

It was an intimidating sight when 18 CCCC members (16 in Orange) rolled up to sign on. Well done guys.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment.
