Four brave souls gathered at the West Gosford shops for the coffee ride this morning. Only 3 of us, Ray, Rev and myself, were truly brave enough to head out into the rain and wind. As we headed into the 'hurricane' along Tascott Straight, I remarked to RVS that "it's confirmed Ray, we are fools!", we powered into it and continued on our way. Conditions improved, only marginally, at least it wasn't cold though, and we picked up a few of the Tri guys that usually pass us in the opposite direction.
So for all of you that stayed tucked away in warm beds in the arms of your loved ones, just think of that wasted training opportunity when RVS, The Rev, or myself go sailing past to take the win...  Grin

Skein is temporary, knitting isn't.

I wondered who that was as I grovelled home after my TT effort.  I hate those things, esp in the wind and rain.

Thought about joining you guys for about a picosecond before carrying on towards home and a nice hot shower.  Maybe next time  Smiley

Ok... I know that it is Mother's Day on Sunday, but is the coffee ride still on? Aren't we doing the right thing be giving the Mothers peace and quiet on a Sunday morning so that they can sleep in. The kids can look after them!  Grin

I can't believe what I'm reading.  Roscoe wants to play?!?

What happened to the usual "I'm working" or "it's for the children" or "my upper melto gelato is giving me heat" or "my time machine broke down" or "the dog ate my homework" HuhHuh Come on Roscoe, don't let us down just as we are coming into the winter peak!!!!  I expected to see more gristle and intensity from you, maybe something along the lines of "I broke a toe nail" or "I can't do a thing with my helmet hair".

Mothers day ride.... bah humbug!!!

I always behave Tosser.. Don't I?  Grin I have noticed on a few of the rides that we don't get calls from the back if riders are being dropped. We need to let the guys up front know. When I am on the front, I am too busy talking and looking for hazards, I don't really know what is going on behind. Also, if riders notice someone tiring, a new rider especially, we need to let the group know to slow it down a little. It would be nice to do this without the new riders knowing, just drift to the front if possible, and pull it back a few ks. The new riders wont feel that it is their fault that the bunch has slowed a touch.

Just so you guys know, there wont be too many out there tomorrow. The CD TTT will have a lot of the coffee ride regulars attending. Still go out though, the coffee ride is always good, and it is always good to know that someone from the club is there should any newbies turn up..

I agree Allen, especially where we live. If you aren't suffering, dodging hazards, or evading cars, there is so much to see! We are blessed on the Coast with an abundance of beautiful and scenic rides!  Grin
