The CCCC juniors had a small but very strong crew make the golden highway trek to dubbo on the week end. with some very fast and competive racing we came home with 8 silver medals
Tommy in under 9 boys came home with 3 silver medals in the TT scratch and sprint derbys
Elizabeth in the under 9 girls managed the same 3 medals in the same silver colour ? I might be wrong with the colour here brain fade with all that went on !
James in the under 13 boys rode really well and made it to the scrarch race final in a very large field cut in half just to make the final
Really great results for these 2 and there support crew

The 4th rider was Brianna and I can report a bit more fully here
As some of you all ready know Brianna was involved in a major accident this time in the warm up. A LACC parent on the infield instructed there rider to join them in the infield while they were riding near the top of the track as Brianna rounded the corner in paceline warm up speed at the bottom of the track the rider made a 90deg left turn right into bri's path consequently the rider was T boned at about 30kph. Luckily most of the landing impact was on the grass but there is now pink bont leather embeded into the Dubbo track.  Both riders were assessed by the ambulance Bri given clearance to ride by them but was refused any extra time by officialdom to complete here TT later in the carnival. Be there on the line or miss out. The other rider was taken to hospital and had a broken arm.
TT 45mins after the crash was a dissapointing time but still a good result in 4th place
Scratch was later in the program so we had a couple of hours R&R laying in the back of the car The result was even better with a sprint frinish for silver
Sprint derbys were today and what seems to be the CCCC colour for the week end silver
Great results for the whole club and the junior program with juniors finishing the state season with 2 gold and 11 silver medals ? and 1 state representitive

Some results from the States this weekend.
CCCC representatives were
U9B Tommy Y
U9G Elizaabeth Huggs
U13B James Huggs
U13G Brianna Hunt

I might leave the 13 girls to Dave as it seems like Bri was bound to have a tough weekend after being wiped out in the warm up by an U9 girl from LACC.

Tommy started things off for the club with a 2nd in the TT followed by Elizabeth who also took out silver (the top 2 girls times were also the fastest out of all the U9 girls and boys).
James had a pb but didn't place.

The 13 boys then had scratch race qualifiers, James was in heat 2 and with 1.25 laps to go took a flyer to chase a solo breakaway, he was caught on the line by the chasing bunch, ending up 6th and through to the final for the first time.

The scratch race finals saw Tommy finish with a strong 2nd.
The much larger U9 girls scratch race (12) saw Elizabeth and Hayley from Dubbo control the race at the front until the last 200 when the Wagga girl hit top speed and took gold closely followed by Elizabeth for her 2nd silver.

James ran his best race to qlfy and didn't feature in the places of the final.

Sunday was time for the sprint derby and each of the kids were going to get 3-5 races as a minimum.

U9B- Tommy had a clear win first up and was straight through to the final (only 6 U9 boys so only one repercharge required). In the final Tommy was right in it but ended with very close 2nd.

U9G- Elizabeth had a strong win in her 1st heat which put her through to the 1st semifinal. She also took out the semi, controlling again from the front and putting her through to the final. In the final Elizabeth had her work cut out with a Bathurst girl taking front position and taking the pace up early, Elizabeth held her nerve and went with Rebel from Wagga but didn't have the speed to go past her and finished a close 2nd.

U13B- James had a tough heat and would be forced into the repercharge where he had a great plan that was spoiled when another boy took a flyer sending James out the back.

All in all it was a pretty eventful but successful weekend for CCCC.

Now it's time for the support crew to have a well earned rest!

Fantastics results and great great efforts - especially from James in a very competive age group (some of those u/13 boys would be near top of u/15s I reckon) and Bri backing up after sorting out some of Elizabeth's competition in the warm up Grin. From past experience and the time stamps on the previous posts it was obviously a long tough weekend for the support crews too - but worth it no doubt. Well done all.

Well done to all and by the looks CCCC is going to continue to shine as our riders get into higher age groups.  I hope Brianna is healing well and has learnt a new appreciation for grass.
