I am able to make the first 2 weeks 17 and 24, hopefully the work roster continues to suit.

I have 2 seats available in my car for the 17th. Bike rack that takes 3 bikes.

I am planning on getting to the track next Wednesday 15th for a trial run as I have never ridden it before. Anyone who wants to go, maybe we can arrange a track session with Barry at the track for some good training.

I have booked a training session at the Dunc Gray Velodrome next Wednesday 15th at 10am. It is a 90 minute session with the coach Barrie McLean.

It will cost $50 for up to 2 riders plus $10 for track hire ($35 each). So if anybody wants to get in on it and put in a good session let me know. He also has hire bikes available for $10.

Below is the message I received from Barrie McLean.

G’day Brad,

If you have not been on Dunc Gray you must have a session with me to get up to speed. Below is info regarding cost etc, note that the coaching fee is $50 for up to 2 people so if you can get someone to come along you share the coaching cost.

A word of warning, it can be 8 degrees or less on the track at this time so plenty of warm clothing and lots of water is the go.

Wednesday is OK for me, if it is before lunch I need to be off the track by 12.30 PM. Afternoon also OK at 1.30 PM. You can contact me on my mobile if you want to discuss.
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the general info we send to interested people:
You will need to book at least one week in advance, it is best to ring me to discuss available dates otherwise if you pick a date without consultation I may not be available.

Sessions week days 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

 Cost:
Fee for use of track bike and track - $20 per person (less $10 if using own track bike)

Helmet – Provide your own

Day licence for insurance  - $15 each if not a member

Clothing either bike gear or shorts and joggers

Coaching fee week days for up to two people - $50,  3 people or more $20 each. Session lasts around 1 ½ hours depending on fitness.

If you ride a road bike or mountain bike and have bike shoes you can bring your pedals and shoes and we will fit your pedals to our track bikes.

Bring warm clothing and plenty of water, even in summer it can be cold in the velodrome. Glasses with clear lenses are helpful if you have them.

 Talk to you later.

 Best regards,

 Barrie McLean

Simon, What time are you leaving Kariong? I will drive though as my offer to provide a lift has been taken up. Room for 1 more bike and 2 more riders in my car. Maybe another bike can get in the trailer?

Sounds good, meet around 4.45 to leave Kariong 5pm latest.
I can fit 6 bikes in the trailer so the more the merrier.

I'm not going, but will play the part of guest DJ with Simon's more than capabale iPod thingy.

FNM for the trip home.  Turn War Pigs, Crack Hitler and Epic up to 11teen!  Might as well do the same with The Real Thing too.

Have fun down there lads

I am wondering if these skewers for the front wheel only (secure skewers) will be accepted by the Commissaire at the track on Friday night or will I need a proper nutted axle.

http://www.getprice.com.au/images/uploadimg/1402/350_BBB-Wheel-Fixed-Quick-Release-Locking-Bike-Skewer-Set.jpg

Otherwise I will need to get my skewer front wheel changed over to a nutted one.
