I wouldn't think little cracks needed screws.

Exactly, a screw might come loose.

Do they do buy-one-get-one-free deals on pelvic/hip operations?

Might i suggest that wall jumping is more dangerous than being on a bike. An experienced CCWJ might assist with wall jumperering( french for jumping).

So... What about last Friday in C grade, anyone involved in that fall or see something that wants to comment? I'm sure there were plenty that were affected and don't have an idea of why or how there was a fall. Be good for the rest of the bunch to be able to avoid the same thing again.

I was moving up from the very rear of the bunch after just having had a leisurely chat & a cup of tea with Whitey who was only sitting on 130bpm with only 2.5 laps to go.

The first I was made aware of an issue was when I heard the sickenining sound of the first riders hitting the ground. I was mid bunch, moving up on the right, on Fergo's Bend.

Looking left I saw another 4 or so riders go down behind the initial fall mid bunch.

I have to say Andy that I didn't know the majority of the riders involved post fall, and not sure if the guys are on the forum (yet) to elaborate any further. Perhaps a debrief tonight would provide more info & some rider education to ensure the safety of all at CCCC events.

I spoke to Greg during the week and from his very close point of view it seems that the bunch got very wide across the lane and it was twitchy in the middle. Someone moved over on Greg and there was a bit of wheel rubbing and Greg corrected away from the rub, but got a bit tangled up with another riders arm, over corrected and his front wheel jerked out from under him.

This is all second hand as I was up the road a little and didn't even hear it. But from other comments I hear from people is that the bunch may have been almost 8 wide around the time the crash happened.
