GET EXCITED!!....and get training.

Approval for CCCC's Famous Friday Night Crits has been granted from the police, RTA & Council.

I am currently working on the program but it is pretty simple.............. On a FRIDAY Night, at 6pm, YOU SHOULD BE AT LUCCA RD!!!

We will start on the first Friday night after daylight saving kicks in; Friday the 7th of October.

Are there plans to have any Sunday crits before then or should we plan on a longer ride each Sunday until October?

Only the Juniors have approval with TMP. Sunday 18th, 25th Sept. We dont have approval for seniors until October. Sad

Can I race on a $33 day pass to see how far off the pace I am, or do I have to be a full member to race ?

If I can, can I just turn up and register ?

Thanks.

Yes, just make sure you turn up a little earlier to avoid the rush at the sign-on desk.   Once you get there, ask for Gary White (aka Whitey) or Mick Curran.

I forgot to ask the distance. Is it 40km, like 10 laps of a 4km circuit ? I assume that it is a pretty flat course ?

Cheers.

And to give you an idea of average pace for the racing;

A - 41+ km/h
B - 38-40 km/h
C - 36-38 km/h
D - 32-35 km/h

Cheers, Ciaran

I have been fluffy about the cafe' scene of late. Sometimes as myself and sometimes undercover. I have heard some very excited cyclist speaking with each other re: the upcoming crits starting October 7!!

Here are some of the comments I have heard:

"Carbon wheels this..........."
"Skin suit that..............."
"Attack early........ "
"Sit in ....................."
"NEED to be top 3 into last corner..................."
"Whitey is in form................."
"Finesse will help................."
"Anyones race till Col is back.............."
"Aim to take a lap..............."

A reminder that E (juniors) & D Grade will start 6pm sharp. A, B & C Grade will start 6.15pm SHARP.

Sign on for both from 5.30pm.

Yeh I have heard the same mutterings. Also keep hearing "put me down a grade Whitey, I've been concentrating on core strength and have hardly been on the bike"

Might have been the same person who contacted me and said "We automatically go down a grade at crits don't we? ...Cause it's faster?"
