Quick fire stats and wrap from yesterday's epic.

I would love to give more specific stats but at the 140km mark I had an 'altercation' with a drink bottle which fell from of a rider in front. I was traveling at 72km/h in the bunch and ended up sideways, highsiding then landing rubber down. When I opened my eyes I was relieved to notice I had somehow I held it up but lost my bottles and my polar computer.

Anyway, race time for the 170km was 3h47mins  Shocked That's an average of close to 45km/h. We covered the first 100km in 2hrs!! (avg 50km/)
The 130 strong peloton hit the bottom of Razorback for the second time and within 1km the peloton lost 80-90riders. I was within touching distance over the top but was not good enough to hold the pro's wheels. I crested in 'no mans land' in a chase group of 6 between the front selection and the rest of the peloton, and that's how I finished.

3 div2 riders made the selection, therefore, I came across the line in 4th position in Div2.

I was aiming to finish so I guess I exceeded my expectations.

Most importantly, I attacked from the gun to better my chance of SBS airtime. I also went solo at the 135km mark. Let's wait and see if it paid off  Tongue

Top stuff - well done.

Time for a short rest before the all important and much more prestigious CCCC Crits.  Wink

Mick 4th on Stage and 4th on GC

I don't control the editing of video, but if I see you on my screen I will be sure to shout out your name and try to sneak in an "always aggresive Mick Curran riding for Waki-Lexus from Central Coast CC"

Had Paul Hillbrick not pointed at me with 3 seconds to go whilst on the phone with the radio station, I am sure things would have been different. Csfive, I think you can back me up on this.
