IT'S BAAAAACK!

Sort of.

Please go to www.centralcoastcyclingclub.com.au and have a look.  There is only bare bones information there at the moment, please let me know if there is anything else that should be there.

Thanks, Ciaran

Progress, well done. What about some photos of actual CCCC riders?

I was going to chat Stumpy about that, probably when things quieten down in the new year.  He's a busy guy at the moment!

Great work Ciaran, good foundation to build on. I have a few pics from last race of 2011 road season if you want to add some photos.

Hi All,

With the AGM coming up, I thought it might be good to post up about the website.  I am not looking to be involved with the website this year, other than basic updates of race results etc.

The website needs to be rebuilt from scratch, and while this should be an easy task with the software that is installed on the website, I just don't have the time this year.

So if anyone here with some interest in web design & management would like to do the job, make sure you attend the AGM next Tuesday 21st February.

**Not a current CCCC member disclaimer**
Last time the web-site turned to dust... It was re-built to a simple level with instructions/passwords etc all handed over to the new web admin.
Not great/perfect etc but at least could be maintained without the need for someone to dedicate lots of time to it.
Not sure what’s happened in the since then... but looks like another new platform to document/learn/maintain and currently close to nothing useful on there.

Hopefully the website does not become a plaything for someone with some interest in web design & management and is seen as a club resource/tool and reverts back to that.

NOTE: Absolutely no dig at Ciaran or anyone else who has spent time/energy/money on the web-site.... just needs to be standardized and managed more appropriately. Please take in the spirit intended....

Of course GKW.  I totally admit that the current format is poor, as it has no relevant or recent information.  But the wordpress format is fantastic, just have a look at the Impact Images blog to see how well this can work when managed properly.

The previous website format was easy to maintain as it had been established for some time, the current website needs to be established before it can be easily managed.  And that establishment takes some time and effort.

I think someone with an interest in web design can & should see it as a plaything at first, as long as they remember that the end result still needs to be functional, informative and easy to navigate.

Hopefully someone can fill the job, as the website will play a part in helping the club grow in the future.

Hi mate

i might have something that the club can use that i will present at the next meeting..

the way it will be done is that simple even someone with no computer skills what so ever  can do it.. so for eg if i was to do  it then in 6 mths i dont want to, the next person can do it and learn it in about 10 min.. that way we can keep it going

itll be something very similar to my website but with out the cart (or we can have cart for the uniforms)

this is my site in case people wanted to get an idea.

http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/

We can have Menus down the side, all the details that dont change up the top, change the website front page using a WORD Based format and the site can be changed any where in the world.

i can have it fully built with in a few days..

For the amount of small changes done...it may be worth considering handing it over to a professional design company. Purpose built site, that either they or we manage and have 100% complete ownership over. Changes made and upkeep by a professional who WILL make all changes WHEN requested because of small fee paid each time as opposed to when a club member has the time, inclination or ability?

Food for thought  Smiley

Happy to attend and discuss benefits and costs

Rubi

The site like mine is exactly like that. We can upkeep it our selves. No cost involved. Easy to update and no cost to keep it per month. We can do what we like and update any time.
Add logos
Add details
Add results
Has a image gallery
Has a calendar.
Pretty much everything we need.
