Unfortunately I was unable to attend the NSW TT championships on Friday, however the results read:

1.   32 MCMANUS, Tirian Southern Cross CC 2 B JM19 1.06.068 GOLD
2.   33 ROBINSON, Reece Hunter District CC 3 F JM19 1.07.466 SILVER
3.   34 MCCULLOCH, Jack St George CC 4 B JM19 1.07.510 BRONZE
4.   35 YALLOURIS, Nicholas Central Coast CC 5 F JM19 1.08.97

It was pointed out to me by a member of CNSW that Nick rode with standard training high pressure tyres/wheels and non-specialised equipment.

Can CCCC as a club do something about this?

Nick this Sunday will be riding the NSW individual pursuit state championship. This is the sole event where aerodynamics and rolling resistance is at a premium. Can we help Nick as a club in his ambitions to make the NSW state team for the Nationals?

It will not help to provide him with equipment on the day, it needs to be delivered ASAP so he can test and familiarise himself with faster/lighter equipment.

Whether or not Nick achieves his goal is irrelevant, it is important for us and him to have the best possible shot at it on a somewhat level playing field.

Below is an email I have received from a concerned CNSW member

Hi Paul
I spoke to Nick and his dad about equipment for the pursuit this weekend. I suggested they should speak to you to see what can be arranged locally for wheels. They were reluctant to ask, not wanting to impose (a trait which could be a little more widespread) Even the High pressures he was riding were no better than training Hp's which makes his performances more noteworthy. A lot of my equipment is already being used by our locals, but if nothing can be arranged please let me know and between xxxxx and I we will make sure he has something more competitive to use.
Thanks  xxxxxx

Well done Nick and a great time!
3:29.004 followed with a 3:29.032.
With NSW needing 4 riders to ride the team pursuit at nationals he has put his hat into the ring!

Also note that Matt Formstom / Phil Thuaxe secured a Gold medal in 4000m pursuit (106% of world record, thus Gold) super time 4:33.396

On Saturday Mick Curran teamed with Newcastle’s Dane Crawford for the state Madison. Despite U19 teams securing the top 3 positions overall Team Waki / Lexus did enough to win the Elite silver medal. Mick and Dane seemed to enjoy the race judging from the amount of banter they were involved in during the race and after.

Thanks Artson,

How could you not enjoy a race that requires you to hand sling your mate in the middle of a bunch traveling 50km/h+ on a bike with no brakes...... and not crashing. Singing whilst doing it was just our sneaky diversion.
