Is there any indication from council when the track will be available for racing or training.

Thanks Murphs. I heard this morning that Gosford Little Athletics has been told mid to end January. Hopefully we can still start in December.

Hey guys...

Its been a while and I noticed this thread on the day I received this email from Little As....

Yesterday I had a meeting with Gosford Council in relation to our return to Adcock Park.  Unfortunately the grass has not knitted as well as hoped and they are not allowing us to return to Adcock Park until after the Christmas break.  This means our first night back will be the 13th January 2012.

Maybe they will let you guys on a little sooner as you aren't really using the 'turf'.

For those that are getting withdrawals from lack of track and don't want to travel south then a trip to Newcastle Velo for racing on Wednesday nights starting at 7:30 PM might just help.

Been getting great numbers and heaps of juniors, there was 39 riders in total last Wednesday.

Clarence Street Cup or Omnium Champs? 3 and 4 December

Not sure if I am at this level, but would like to enter one or both events. Any thoughts?  Entries close on Sunday.

Clarence Street is worthwhile, although it does seem the Div 1 riders getting a better hit out with more racing.
You are not at the level to be competitive for the omnium, however this does not mean you can’t ride it. It does give you some bang for your buck with 3 TT events + 3 mass start events

If you have an interest, why not ride the Omnium?
If you are in the "Elite" class, it may be just a matter of finishing the day to score a medal
- this class is notoriously undersupported (and underperforming) for track in NSW these days...

Grant, I am a masters 2 and just realised that I cannot enter the Omnium so that solves that question. It does appeal to me, maybe there is a masters event later in the season.

Brad, please note that you can ride this event (it would simply involve you paying a few extra dollars to have an "Elite" licence).
And you would still be able to ride the Masters events later as well (ie. changing your licence allows you to ride both Elite (formery known as "Amateur"s) and Masters (formerly known as "Veteran"s) NSW titles).
If past few years are anything to go by, you would probably have more chance of getting a medal in an "Elite" NSW state title than a Masters title - seriously.

Going to DGV again on Wednesday 14/12, leaving Gosford about 4pm. If anyone is interested. I have space in my car. Kebab at Granville on the way back, flat out the best Kebab I have ever eaten.
