I used to train at Adcock park in my athletic days and I went to view the velodrome with Stef two weekends ago and there was water on the grass track as well as the vedodrome in the same spots as always. They have been trying to fix drainage there for years and I agree, I see no visible improvements. Anyway check you letter boxes as I think rates are due.

Question?

Why is it that in 2012, conducting track cycling is now dictated by field closures?  In my 24 years of Track Cycling at Adcock Park this has never been the case.

Is it a result of the massively expensive track renovations conducted in 2011 that closed the venue for more than 6 months and has reaped no visible or conceivable improvements for the velodrome?

I have a heap of other questions, but won’t start for fear of not stopping.

Can't answer for these days, but the Cycling and Athletics Track was originally set up like this......

In the mid-seventies when the track was built a Tri Committee (Gosford Senior Athletics, Gosford Little Athletics and Central Coast Youth Club Amateur Cycling Club) met with Council each month to assist and advise on all matters concerning the Cycling and Athletics Track.

Having represented the club for a few years on this committee and others, the “wet weather call” was always left to us, as was the agreed allocated days for the Cycling Club (Mon & Wed) and Athletics Clubs (Tues, Thurs, Friday) as well as numerous other issues.

The wet weather call is always a contentious issue, take “Friday Night Crits” for example, it was the clubs call (no issue there) but you simply can’t please everyone.

Anyway, one might expect a stock standard bureaucratic waffle of an answer from council in these days of litigation and progress or there maybe someone who wants to start bashing his/her head against a brick wall for a month or two, any volunteers  Smiley ?

I am willing to bring an esky stocked with soft drinks, water and powerade each week. Hopefully to raise some extra funds for the club. I will donate the initial stock and replenish each week from the takings. Any suggestions for the contents? Perhaps a few amber ales could be included for consumption at the end of racing.

CCCC Track Racing
Week 6
15 Feb  2012

Last week

•   Several new track records
•   Team pursuit team looks good
•   Fun night

Early post
•   Two reasons for the early post this week
•   One: it has been raining and is probably going to continue to rain. This early post may give you some hope for the future.
•   Two: being a pursuit night, some people like to prep for this important event.

This week
•   Round 1 Warm up Scratch
•   Round 2   1 Lap handicap
•   Round 3   Win'n'Out
•   Round 4   Pursuits
•   Round 5   Italian
Pursuits
•   The pursuits will be over 7 laps (3220m) for all grades
•   We will have four starting stations (North, South, East and West)
•   Riders intending on attempting a club record must notify before the start of racing at 6:30pm
•   Riders attempting records will have an additional two separate timers for actual record distance.  (Please bring a calculator to work out required additional/minus distance.)

Bring an extra stopwatch

2000m =4 laps +160m
3000m = 6 laps + 240m
4000m = 8 laps +320m

Lets Race!

Due to fire; round 4's Pursuit (points scoring round) could not be ran by all grades. Thus no points were awarded for round 4

Change to 2012 points score: Due to the delay in starting the season (Gosford Council Park upgrades?Huh?) the shortened season will only allow for three missed rides (Byes) rather than the standard four.
