Ok Guys – the Jindabyne training camp can go ahead but will need your urgent attention and commitment to get it to work.
The itinerary is as follows: Thursday 3rd January, leave Kariong Gardens at 7.00am and arrive at Jindabyne at approx 1.30pm – in time for an afternoon leg warming ride.
Friday & Saturday – rides of approx 120km (longer if you want) with options for shorter rides for those that don’t want the extra distance.
Included in the price are two drop off or pickups with the bus if we don’t want to do loops out of Jindabyne ie; we can be dropped say 80kms away and ride back or the bus can meet us to bring us back to Jindabyne after a ride.
Sunday – leave Jindabyne at lunch time (after a ride) to arrive at Kariong around 6.30pm.
Transport is a full sized coach with storage underneath for up to 18 bikes and luggage.
Accommodation is at The Alpine Gables Jindabyne – self contained units that sleep up to 6.
THE COST: $320.00 per person
I have based the cost on a minimum of 10 riders and this price will drop if we can get up to the maximum of 18. This is a non profit price and based on the actual costs quoted to me.
Included: All transport costs, shared accommodation, bistro dinner (includes: main meal, salad, vegetables and drink).
Because the units are fully self-contained I thought it would be better and cheaper if we supply our own breakfast. Lunch will probably be on the bike or at a stop somewhere so you will have to budget for that as well as snacks – but you can bring as much as you want with you on the bus.
The ride routes have not been planned at this stage but there are a few guys in the club that have spent some time in the Snowy region and know the area well. Obviously there will be plenty of climbs but I encourage everyone to get involved as this is training not racing – we will all have plenty of time to wait and no commitments to get back for.
We really need to act fast to get this one going and the camp is open to anyone and everyone. You do not need to be a CCCC rider to join us, so if you have someone that’s interested or think a rider in a different club would be keen, pass the info along. Finally, if you want to bring a non riding spouse, let me know and I will check out sleeping options.
If you are keen to go and get the green light from your family let me know on the forum. I will need to collect $100 deposit next week to confirm numbers with the bus and accommodation companies.
16yrs will be the minimum age, unless accompanied by an adult. If you are under 18 and coming alone, please have your parents give me a call. You can email me to get my number if you don't have it.

What will have to come off the bikes to fit them in the storage under the bus?
Or will we need to box or bag them.
Also Andy what about a film night. Is there access to a small conferance room there . We could watch some tours or such.

On the last bus trip, some guys bagged, some boxed, some wrapped in doonas, some had nothing. To really protect your bike a box is cheapest - free and all you'll have to do is remove the pedals, maybe turn the bars and possibly remove the wheels. Your local bike store should be able to help as they are probably keen to get rid of an extra box or two.
I'm sure there will be somewhere to watch some movies, if all else fails we'll crash in Hodgees room - apparently he likes a little male company - not that there's anything wrong with that.
Are you in for the trip Wayne? I need the numbers to get this off the ground.

I have a few different DVD's TDF 04,05,06 Vuelta Espana 06 the year Vino had a big comeback to win,Hmmm sounds familiar and The 06 Giro D'Italia The Year Basso blew everyone away... Hmmm what was that I read about him again? Oh thats right "I only thought about cheating ,I didn't actually do it"

I am in Andy, I drove along the alpine pass in my travels back from Melbourne last week and saw a few groups out riding on the hilly winding roads and it looks fun
