Duffman - will you be up the with the handicap start times?
I'm on my way to his place to offer some advice........with a six pack of VB for him Roll Eyes
If he thinks he is getting a bribe next time, he's dreamin Shocked

A with a couple of Bs in the mix caught C just after blood on our first lap. I thought we were working reasonably well as a bunch. Oh well dun mater, there is another handicap on July 20 Cheesy
Some of us hung on, some actually took a turn or two, on my part though that was more to do with adrenalin then ability Tongue Tongue
The euphoria was all over for me 1k after hitting 75.4kph down blood. I did keep going however & regrouped with 3 Bs & 2 other Cs. This happy union fell apart for me [you guessed it Shocked] on Blood.
I enjoy any event where I get a good workout so I'm not complaining Smiley Smiley

Mick, that was me you were talking to at the end....
The lack of cohesion in b-grade was a bit frustrating. It all started rather ominously with me and another bloke on the front for the first couple of hundred metres, waiting for someone to come through!! After a bit of yelling the penny dropped and people started working.
Some guys don't seem to understand speed control...some were sprinting past the lead rider and just carrying on without easing. Others were taking an age to get past & in front of the lead rider.
After A-grade caught us the contrast in riding was amazing....everything was smooth and the hillclimbing was controlled....no surging up hills.
I really enjoyed that bit of the race...so much so that Andy H had to tell me to take it easy when going through....I wasn't easing down enough Roll Eyes......I'll really have to start taking my own advice!
Anyway, it was a good, safe race in the end....it's all good training! And now I have sore legs.

you rode very well once in with us, smooth and honest.

A special note to hodgee, there was a guy on the front at one stage that was in a polar kit and answered to the name of hodgee.

Thats right you on the front of the A bunch. I loved it!

that is the idea of h'caps so its great to see it working.

You were driving it on the front too, not just making up the numbers.

I only saw this once however. Grin

Yep, I was gone after that. Didn't feel like doing another lap at that pace, I have had a big week.
