I have asked Simon Huggins t write this week’s report from Div 4
However with GT's Great win and Dan the man's second in wheel race we could expect a few extra

Graham will do his report tonight. He is in Adelaide delivering computers and equipment to Cycling Australia so they can have Wireless video transfer to use during the track events at the Bejing Olympics.

Div 3 Report

The race that mattered...........

A quick discussion amongst the outlyers , Pete , myself & Darren Kelly from ADF, saw the plan for Pete to drive the first 2, me the 2nd 2 and Darren the last, so we could hold off the bunch and then fight out the finish. Gadget fired me off with what turned out to be a gold medal start, thanks mate.

Plan worked for about 5 metres, when Darren missed the drop and the Pete express left the station. Both of us were suprised when we actually pulled a gap on the rest of the field, maybe a benefit of some hesitation from new starters and a bit of a traffic jam. Grin

I think Pete pulled for 3 laps, Paul reports 4, it felt like 2, with the finish a long way off and only clean air in the way. I peaked at 53kph the next lap and then proceeded to dig a big hole, peddling squares for the last 2, but with a heap of encouragement from the stands, managed to find a few last muscle strands that weren't screaming, to hold onto 40kph across the line, I am sure I could have gotten off and walked faster. Thank god I use 23mm tires, if it was a 21mm, Dan would have pipped me on the line, it was that close.
CCCC 1 and 2!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

The other races;

Standing 1 Lap screamer
Pete & I were pretty stuffed after the wheelrace & managed to end up in a heat on our own, which meant we could "recovery race" without looking too out of it, Dan looked to be starting to come into his own by taking out his standing lap heat against 3 other starters.

Snowball
Great, the pace was on from the start with the sprinters after the early points,  I spent most of the time slaloming around slower runners and closing gaps to the front bunch, finishing at the back of the lead group with the lactic starting to disappear and beginning to feel a little better,  still it was more like a furball than a snowball. Didn't see how the other guys finished as I was preoccupied with the furball.

Combined
Ditto to the furball race, except it was 3 laps too far.............. Lips sealed
