Hello
Just confirming that weather permitting, the coffee ride will be on this Sunday. Cheesy  If you are coming (helpers included) can you please post on this thread.
All club mmebers are welcome but it is a great opportunity for the new women in the club to get used to coffee riding and bunch riding skills.  So it is not a hard core ride.

COFFEE RIDE 1 (Skilled riders)
Date: Sunday 13th July
West Gosford - Umina loop 30km
Time: 7.15am (leaving on time)
Meet: West Gosford Shops (car park)
Coffee : Micheles Patissere WGS

Here is the map of the course too.

I am pretty sure at this stage those coming so far are: Desrae, Hollie, Kylie, Sally, Karen, Jock, Michael Hull, Jason and Chicken.   Grin

Cheers
Louise

I will be riding if healthy. Still struggling to get over bronchitis. If unable to ride I will still come for support and first aid if anyone unlucky to get injured! And of course coffee and chance to meet others will be great.

As this will be the first ride we should get together (at 7:10am) for a quick run down on how things work and what to expect on the ride.

Riders on the regular coffee ride start arriving from about 6:55am and depart around 7:00am, so if you're keen for a chat then you can do worse than introduce yourself to them.  They tell tall tales of racing bravado and share heartrending tales of racing misfortunes.  They're always keen to rabbit on about the latest bit of bling that's appeared on someone's bike and, of course, there'll be plenty of sage commentary on the latest happenings in the Tour de France.  Not to be missed, it's better value than an episode of Cycling Central with Mick Tomalaris.

I've seen Pete ride Karen, he's going to be sitting at the back of the bunch wheel sucking off everyone. You have no chance of him 'dragging you along'.  Grin

It was great Hodgee. 5 brave men came along to guide us and also showed us how to order coffee. I do recall a caramel latte being ordered by one of the guys! Wink I think there was 7 women in total. No tears and no broken nails, so I would say a very successful first coffee ride. Great advice from the men helped us to stay together, (except on last hill) and we only received a few beeps from impatient drivers. I'm sure Jock or one of the other men will be able to give a more accurate account of our ride but all in all I think we did well. Stats were: Distance-30km with average speed of 23km/hour. I think it took about 1hr and 18min. (I love my Polar product!) All women are very excited about our next ride in a couple of weeks.
