Well if C graders find that the tactics and race pace of B grade is too slow
B can do what they like AFAIAC

why don't they walk the walk and join us and see how they go...
I'm sure that is the aspiration of all C & D graders Smiley You need to earn your stripes first though & just because a lower grades pace during a race is quicker than a higher grade obviously doesn't qualify.

I now have a bit more of an understanding of what to do in this situation.
Thanks climbo & jocko

OK,  I will own up to being the cause of why C grade caught B.

You see, after the crit the week before, I mentioned to a couple of the B grade guys that I would see them at the crit on the 11th. Now, the fact that I turn up for 1 crit, let alone 2 in a row is so unusual that it must have stuck in their subconcious, and such is their camaraderie (look it up) that B grade soft pedaled for 45 mins waiting for me to arrive and catch up.  Alas, I was stuck at work in Sydney and was unable to make it.

I will not be there next week, so I am pretty sure the guys won't be soft pedalling for anybody.

I think that's a good idea Stumpy.

Perhaps once in a while an A grader can come down to B to help sort out the pace and help with developing some race etiquette and tactics. Smiley

If that is going to happen, the right A Grader needs to be chosen... Stumpy... aaahhhh yeeeees...  Grin does that mean a B Grader drops into C and so on... Not gonna happen.. There are enough good riders with experience in all the grades to have good racing, and it will always be that a grade will have a lazy week and get in the way of the other grade, its part of sharing the course... Id like to see a handicap run once a week as a points series.. Might be interesting, and it will also show some of the lower graders the speed and tactics that are used as they are swept up by the higher grades...  Grin
