Just to give everyone the heads up, Pete and I rode to PITS today and got a little grief from some security and road workers. They let us through but I'm not sure if it will continue. It looks like they are underpinning the road. Just some thing to keep in mind.

Skein is temporary, knitting isn't.

Did you notice if they were council crew or RTA contractors doing the work?

Looked like contractors but I'm not 100% sure. I would be suprised to see them on a Sunday though.

Hey Liam - Can you still get around safely or is the road all dug up?

Hey Andy,

No it's not all dug up it looks the same as always.

Today there was trucks and equipment at either end, with some pipes lying on the road at the southern end of the barricades that we had to get off and hop over. (90mm pipe only).

The barriers are still there, and you climb around as usual.

It's just that today, as Liam said, we were accosted by a couple of the contractors about going over the road.

The sign, as you would have seen previously, that states that you enter at your own risk is still there also.

P.S

I forgot to mention that the Security guy that Liam mentioned is there to look after the contractors equipment/machinery during the night. (exciting job no wonder he was bitter)

We asked him if he was there to stop people using the closed off section of the road and he said no. Although he didn't mind putting his two bobs worth in anyway.
