Hi... I will be heading up this Saturday to Magenta for a week. Just wanna know if anyone is willing to show/direct me where you guys meet up for training/coffee rides during the week and weekend. Of course if you don't mind a Sydney-sider tagging along with your training/coffee rides. Note that I'm not familiar with central coast area.

Thanks ahead for your help/reply.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

For people like yourself there is a small group that usually heads down from the north to Terrigal and back.  Unfortunately this weekend we host our annual track open and the NSW Country Track championships at Adcock Park in West Gosford, so the usual ride might not go ahead.

However, Magenta is right on Wilfred Barret Dr which is home to many cyclists and triathletes on the weekends.  You could hook up with riders cruising up and down that route.

Hi Steve....  Not sure how you have gone getting in any training.  A couple of us will be heading up your way on Wednesday.... we will be sailing past you at about 1130 if you are keen for a ride.  We can return you to Magenta at about 1300 (which will give you about a 50k ride) or you can head back south with us and then head home yourself if you are up for a bit longer.  One of the guys is a strong rider so if you need to get some efforts in he can take you on a side detour

It seems a shame not to do a ride to Swansea while you are here.... basically you turn right out of Magenta and head north until you hit the Pacific Hwy.... turn right and it is just rolling hills to Swansea... great view and good boys ride as you can check out the coal ships on your right as you descend into Swansea on the way back you can return through Catherine Hill Bay.... Climbing day.

Cheers
Yoni

Hi Yoni... Yes, I'm interested. I'm staying at the Magenta Shore until this Saturday 22/11/08. I'll see you at 11.30am on Wilfred Barret Dr (or is it now call Central Coast Hwy?).

If it is easier for you, my contact number is 0416241889. The internet coverage here is really bad.

As for today, I'll just explore around the Magenta area to see if I can bump into any group ride.

By the way, are you guys doing any other ride during the week leading to the weekend?

Thank you again for you invite and response.

Steve.

Me 'Are you ok mate'
Him 'Yeah no worries, I'm staying over there' pointing to Magenta.
Me 'Slew, how are you' Grin
slew 'Are you Yoni'
Me 'Nah Yoni's a girl'

He seems very keen to meet up for the Wednesday ride to Swansea so keep an eye out fro him Smiley

Hi Slew.... just about to finish work... looked outside and realised that it is raining. I should have consulted with Jock to organise rain free training.  As I am a fair weather rider I will be giving today a miss I am afraid.  If you dont meet up with the guys tomorrow morning I will be up your way if it is fine.

Radar is looking good.  The roads should be dry by 11:30.  Come on Yoni CC riders are tough.

I went out this morning heading to meet up Simon and the usual Thursday morning ride. I managed to get as far as the bridge to The Entrance town and crossing halfway. Then I felt a few drops of rain. So, I turn around and head back to Magenta Shore. Half way back it start pouring down. Got soak obviously.

The irony about this is, I did checked the radar before heading out and saw a big cloud of rain heading toward this area, but I thought I'll risk it anyway. Anyway, it was a good fast and short 10km ride.

Yoni has told me about the Crit race tomorrow 6pm. I'll check it out and most probably ride it too.

Yoni also mentioned about the casual Saturday ride starting at 7am. What time do the ride finish? I thought I might be able to squeeze it in before heading back to Sydney.
