Carl Cup 9th of January
•   Just been in touch with the demi-god from Mudgee (Carl)
•   The Man himself should be able to be present for the 7th running of the Carl cup
•   The “Carl Cup” is a 4 lap handicap
•   The handicap is independent of your CCCC track handicap i.e. you will be allocated your handicap on the night
•   To make the final you must qualify
•   Point of note Carl has never made the final

Tweedy and Huggins off 230m??!?  You've got to be kidding!  Game over.

[edit]I just rubbed my eyes and saw John Hodgets off 225m as well.  And the great man himself, Gary White, driving the whole debacle off 235m.  I'm not a sore loser, but...[/edit]

Jock
Everyone has to qualify for the CC. So should be mix of ABC riders. And u should be able to pull back 40m per lap........... who said it had to be fair. Crafty is a nice guy and probably wants to give the struggling C graders a chance after the previous A grade domination, and also everyone wants to add the CC to their trophy cabinet.

Meh,

c'mon Gary.  There's absolutely no way we can haul back 150m over four laps from you superstars.  We've been dudded, for sure.

as you said whitey everyone has to qualify to make the cup, and if i was you i would be going flat out from the beggining because i really dont think you can hold your 200 odd mts over 1800mts with LVS and I swapping turns, ill give you 2 1/2 laps before your all over.

as you also said it doesnt have to be fair, and it isnt, you should of had a bigger h'cap.

This year to Qualify for the Carl Cup will be simple!

All you have to do is finish in the top half of your bunch in the scratch race.
A minimum of 5 per grade will qualify.

So here is an example using recent attendance patterns

•   A Grade 6 riders = 5 to Qualify
•   B Grade 9 riders = 5 to Qualify
•   C Grade 14 riders = 7 to Qualify

Total for final = 17

Also as race director I get to make an extra call

if C Grade has 13 riders (odd number) = 6 to Qualify + the highest finisher of Kodie and Travis

If Mick is up to it, his best time for 1844m will be 2:12 if he gets a little help from his friends and avs 50.29 k/hr. The C boys need to av better than 44.02 k/hr for the 1614m to claim the CC. But I am not making any predictions and u have to qualify to make the final.
