For anyone interested on Tuesday afternoon, Frosty's ride will be leaving the usual time and place (Cal Close Somersby at 3.20pm sharp) but instead of the usual route they will be heading to Freya's neighbours place that has a 6km hot mix race track to check it out for the possibility of racing on.

The pace is usually moderate to fast with rolling hills and if Phil Austin is there the group won't wait for slow coaches or anyone that flats. Grin so don't come if you don't own a pump and spares.

Anybody is welcome - it would be good to get a few opinions on the track.

I thought approaches had been made for racing on the track and had been denied... Has something changed... Or is Freya applying pressure to the neighbour... She may be threatening to invite some 'cousins' over... hehehe

Freya says that she let the club know about the track but no-one has taken it any further. If the more experienced riders think the track is a goer she thinks all we'll have to do is submit a letter to the owner outlining the dates and times we'd like to use the track, promise to keep it clean and park at Freya's to keep impact to his property at a minumum and everything will be sweet.

With all the posters on the forum I don't think a letter will be a problem. Freya is ok with parking and Mick has promised to pick up papers after a race so hopefully the track is suitable and as good as it has been made out to be.

If it is good, I guess the first step will be to address the committee at a meeting and go from there. If it's not suitable - nothing lost.

I doubt whether the club made any attempts to contact the owner ever, despite being given all the gory details.

The owner is not willing to let any other cars on the track as there would be major liability issues.  But CCCC has coverage for any event that it runs on any course that is approved for use by the necessary authorities (usually police, council(s), fire brigade (thru-access issues), ambulance, and CNSW).

he doesnt even live there it is only a holliday getaway.

fingers crossed.

my suggestion is when it comes down to putting the hard word on the owner we should find out which way he swings and then send freya or hodgee accordingly.

(no offence freya, OFFENCE hodgee)

But on a more serious note, I don't think a whole group of people riding on the track unannounced on Tuesday is a good idea. Andy perhaps you and 1 or 2 others can come up seperately at a different time. If we don't approach this correctly it will be over before it has started.

Sorry to be such a party pooper....but hey

Sorry about that Freya - misunderstanding.

Anyone that was intending to come on Frosty's ride - come anyway and enjoy the ride, we'll get out to the track when we can.

Freya - I'll give you a call to tee something up when it suits you.

i was of the understanding we would just ride up to the general area of the track and look 'over the fence'. no actually ride on it, as said previous i think this would be rude!
